Photographer Holiday Wishlist
If you are a photographer and need help deciding what items to put on your Christmas wishlist, or if you know a photographer and are wondering what to gift them— look no further than right here. These items range from stocking stuffers to big ticket gifts, and at all price points. Many of my must-haves, or wish-I-had’s are in this list. Happy shopping!
Starting off with the BEST thing I've ever bought for my business. This camera strap has solved all of my issues— It helps with my back pain, it allows me to use both hands in between photos, it moves so seamlessly that I can photograph at any angle comfortably. And also, it’s cute af. It comes in a few different colors and I’m tempted to buy them all!
I have owned this camera bag for years— in that time I have taken it to the beach, the mountains, the snow and the rain. I have traveled with it and use it for every session I do.. and when I tell you it still looks BRAND NEW. My favorite parts of this bag: how easily you can wipe off dirt or mud from the adventure sessions, How you can access your camera inside without taking it off your shoulders, the secure laptop sleeve and all the secret zippers where I put my passport while driving, and my keys while at sessions. This bag is an investment but worth every penny.
3. STANLEY CUP (WITH LEAKPROOF STRAW)
Okay, by now everyone has and loves the classic stanley cup. I own one and love it— but my only complaint is that if the water bottle tips over, the water gushes out. Well, I have found our solution! This water bottle has a leakproof straw, so you can take it to all your sessions without fear of it spilling everywhere. Cool photographers stay hydrated.. adding to cart immediately.
I own like 20 blankets at this point, but you know what I’ll never get sick of? People gifting me blankets! When in doubt, gift your photographer friend a blanket to use while editing and they will love you forever. Perks if it’s cute like this one!
5. THERAGUN
Session after session, being hunched over getting the right angle with our gear on our backs can take a toll on our bodies. After a 10 hour wedding, my ritual has become taking a bath and then immediately using the theragun. It is truly the gift that keeps on giving!
There are so many times during sessions when I play music on my bluetooth speaker. For couples sessions, it helps my clients loosen up in front of the lens. For family sessions, it calms and distracts a fussy toddler. I love this speaker because of how compact it is, as well as the ability to hook onto your camera bag!
The perfect stocking stuffer IMO. Photographers spend hours in front of the computer and protecting our eyes is so important! Though we can’t use blue light glasses while editing, it’s so helpful during countless hours emailing and culling through photos.
8. ESSENTIAL OIL DIFFUSER & ESSENTIAL OILS
I own a Vitruvi diffuser and think it’s the most beautiful thing! But it’s also quite the investment. I recently purchased this cheaper version for my office and it honestly looks so similar, I love it as well!
In 2023, we are going to be ORGANIZED! And a beautiful calendar to keep on your desk is just the thing to help with that. I love that you can fill it in with all your upcoming shoots and it still looks clean and aesthetic in your office.
This thing is INDESTRUCTIBLE. It fits most lenses, protects from sand, water, mud, and not to mention the countless times our poor lenses bang up against something while shooting. This is a gift any photographer would be stoked to receive!
For all my behind-the-scenes footage, I use this tripod! I love how you can adjust the height and angle so easily. The remote also makes it so easy to record and stop recording while you’re shooting! You don’t have to interrupt your shoot by walking over to your phone and turning off the video every few minutes.
12. NECK STRETCHER
BYE BYE TECHNECK! Seriously.. I noticed my neck was constantly in a forward position because of being on my computer and phone for hours a day. I bought this neck stretcher and use it each night for 10 minutes, and oh my gosh. It not only relaxes me, but I seriously notice a difference in my neck pain. This is a random gift to give, yes, but trust me when I say it will be used and well loved!
13. ONE ON ONE MENTORSHIP SESSION
Okay, shameless plug. BUT hear me out! Gifting your loved one a mentorship with a photographer is one of the best gifts. It shows them that you believe in them, in their business and you want to support them in growing it! I offer a range of mentorships, from 1 hour zoom calls, to a full day in-person. We will do a deep dive on all the pain points in their business and how we can move past them and accomplish their goals!
